Dear John,
A sudden raise of high traffic is considered as a DDOS, and more than likely if it was just a high number of people visiting the website the server would have been able to handle it.
Either way, not very well managed.
From what I gather, the server or IP allocated is UK based. It is completely dead now though, even the failover too.

- In addition to my above reply.
They should have really implemented a DNS scan feature that would try and reach the website every x minutes and if it gets no reply then the DNS would change over the pointer for www and root to a secondary IP address / hosting account.
But since they let namesco manage their DNS this cant happen, unless they do it manually, but more than likely the Peter’s IT Tech is asleep.

Hello Josh,The current Jailbreak doesnt work for 4.0.2
4.1 is currently under development and the jailbreak team wont be releasing one for 4.0.2 until 4.1 has been finally released (if there is anything great about that release).
If you had your device jailbroken before and you saved your SHSH through Cydia then you could be lukcy to downgrade to a lower supported version (4.0.1 maybe) and then use the jailbreakme site to jailbreak it. - How To – Microsoft Office 2010 RC Activation Hack

SmoothHosting, clearly this lack of service was caused by a sudden influx of traffic following the company’s mention on Dragons den this evening (a programme viewed by millions of people), not by any of the activities you mention above.
